Leading to the Project on Mountain
Dazhuang Town, located in Shuangbai County, Yunnan Province, is rich in land resources and sufficient light and heat resources. The Shadian River flows through the entire territory of Dazhuang Town from southwest to northeast and then flows into the Lvzhi River. Dazhuang Town is picturesque all year round.
The 250 MW Photovoltaic Project in Dazhuang Town, Yunnan Province is exactly located here. The project is developed by the State Power Investment Corporation Limited (SPIC) by two phases. Phase I has a capacity of 150 MW and fully uses the Giga-N series 580 W monocrystalline silicon solar cell modules of Solargiga Energy. The solar panels are in well-proportioned arrangement along the trend of the mountain, sparkling on the mountain at an altitude of about 1,450-1813 meters. The project not only boosts the green economy, but also protects the original landform and ecology with its innovative design. Thanks to the blocking of ultraviolet rays by photovoltaic panels, the vegetation under the panels is more luxuriant, presenting a beautiful picture of harmonious coexistence between technology and nature.

Adding Momentum to Rural Revitalization
During the project construction of the 250 MW Photovoltaic Project in Dazhuang Town, Yunnan Province, surplus labor force is preferentially selected in the jurisdiction for the project construction, allowing the people to find employment in their hometown. The project is currently progressing in an orderly manner. After the project reaches its full capacity and is put into production in June next year, SPIC will give RMB 0.01 to Baiyu Village, Dazhuang Town for every kW·h of electricity generated. The “RMB 0.01 for every kW·h of electricity” mechanism of connecting farmers and supporting rural development has added new momentum to the revitalization of Baiyu Village, Dazhuang Town.
According to the measurement and calculation, the average annual power generation of the project is expected to be about 413 million kW·h, saving 126,000 tons of standard coal. In addition, the emission of various air pollutants will be reduced accordingly, including about 340,000 tons of carbon dioxide, 949 liters of sulfur dioxide and 165 liters of smoke dust, contributing greatly to local environmental protection, air pollutants reduction and economic development.
Moreover, local companies have also planted 2,200 acres of Salvia miltiorrhiza under photovoltaic panels to develop the under-panel economy, achieving both economic and ecological benefits. In Dazhuang Town, barren mountains and slopes have evolved into a photovoltaic power station and golden land, not only increasing the village’s collective economic income, but also facilitating the employment for nearby villagers. The project is not only a magnificent picture of rural revitalization with photovoltaic project, but also a vivid practice of “lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets”.
