On February 19-21, 2025, the highly anticipated World Smart Energy Week Japan was held grandly at Tokyo Big Sight International Exhibition Center. Solargiga Energy Holdings Limited (Solargiga Energy) exhibited five Giga series innovative products at booths S27-26 in South Hall 3.4.
At this exhibition, Solargiga Energy showcased its cutting-edge technologies and advanced photovoltaic module products. These five exhibits were highly in line with the needs of Japan’s photovoltaic market dominated by small projects. One Giga-N product contains 48 household lightweight bifacial modules and uses N-type TOPCon cell technology to carry 210R rectangular silicon wafers, which greatly improves power generation efficiency and increases the module conversion efficiency to 23.0%, making it possible for the product to operate efficiently even in low-light environments. In terms of appearance design, the product has a more simple and more stylish all-black appearance suitable for various architectural styles.
Another star product, i.e. Solargiga Energy flexible module, has outstanding safety performance. During the installation of the product, it is not required to penetrate the roof, leading to excellent waterproof performance. The weight of the module is only 6.5 kg, making the module more than 70% lighter than conventional modules. In addition, this flexible module eliminates the traditional bracket system for installation, greatly reducing the installation cost.
Japan Photovoltaic Energy Association (JPEA) released its latest photovoltaic development blueprint in 2024, planning to reach 125 GW of installed photovoltaic capacity in the Japanese market by 2030. This goal showed a significant increase of installed capacity when compared with that specified in 2020, showing Japan’s ambition in photovoltaic development.
In recent years, in order to achieve this goal, the Japanese Government has taken active actions to vigorously support the development of the photovoltaic market, and introduced favorable policies such as subsidies and simplified grid connection procedures, including requiring that new residential buildings in Tokyo must be equipped with photovoltaic modules from April 2025. With the implementation of a series of policies, a market structure dominated by small projects has been formed in the Japanese photovoltaic market. Small and medium-sized projects, such as household, industrial and commercial photovoltaic projects, have acquired an important position in the Japanese market with their advantages of flexibility and short construction period, showing a huge market potential.
With the gradual increase of Japan’s photovoltaic installation capacity, Solargiga Energy will continue to increase R&D investment and continuously optimize product performance. Relying on its rich experience and advantageous resources in the Japanese market accumulated for more than ten years, Solargiga Energy will continue to enhance its brand influence and contribute to the development of local clean energy and the global energy transformation.
